HALLOWEEN HAPPENING - October 2017
A family-friendly community event featuring children’s games, a haunted house, storytelling, face-painting, food sales and a silent auction. A parade of costumed children tops off the event! Our event was previously sponsored by the Family Resource Center. After deciding not to continue this event, the Family Resource Center generously offered it to our PTO as a fundraiser for our school community. In the last two years this fundraiser has brought in over $16,000 for the CRES PTO, funds that went to support grade-level and school-wide learning experiences.
LADLES OF LOVE - February 2018
Crystal River Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization is planning our 2nd annual Ladles of Love fundraiser. The goal of this event is to bring parents and teachers of CRES students together for a fun-filled evening of food and entertainment. This event started in 2017 and was held at The Gathering Center at The Orchard.
The focus of this event is handmade or hand painted soup bowls, made by our own CRES students in Ms. Annabel’s Art Class. Event attendees will purchase a bowl and fill it with soups and breads donated by local businesses and community members. They then will enjoy a meal with other CRES parents – the bowl is theirs to keep! In addition to dinner, there will be a cash bar, live entertainment and a silent auction. CRES is partnering with The Orchard, our neighbor, who will be providing affordable childcare for students at CRES during the event.
Proceeds from the bowl sales will be donated to a local charity selected by CRES students. The silent auction and cash bar will raise funds for our Parent Teacher Organization. PTO funds raised will support students and teachers by funding projects such as new playground equipment, outdoor education, literacy materials, science education, field trips, project-based learning and other programs that our school’s regular budget cannot cover.

RAMS RUN - April 2018
The 6th annual CRES Rams Run will take place on a Friday in April. All students will run for 30 minutes on a custom 1/8 mile track outside the school. Students collect pledges per lap or flat donations to raise money for enrichment programs. This is one of PTO's primary fundraisers each year. In 2017, the school raised over $15,000 and purchased new equipment for the PE department.
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK - May 2018
During Teacher Appreciation Week, PTO recognizes our teachers and staff with special treats throughout the week. One day we organize lunch with each grade level contributing part of the teachers' meal. Another morning, teachers will enjoy a cup of Bonfire coffee to start the day. Although we share our gratitude for our teachers all year, this week is a speical chance to recognize all the time, hard work and LOVE our teachers give to our children. Take a moment this week to have your child express their gratitude for the teachers who impact their life. Encourage them to show their thanks in any creative way they like...write a letter or a poem, make a picture, card or art project, send in something special.
