Specials - Music Teacher
My name is Linda Silloway, and I have the privilege of getting to teach all students in grades K-4 at CRES through the medium of music. One of the best things about being a Specials Teacher is that I get to enjoy seeing students’ growth over several years and I get to grow with them.
I grew up in Minnesota and Iowa in a very musical family where the tradition of making great music was expected for all of us. My children, Evan and Tracy, are carrying on this family tradition as excellent musicians themselves. I moved to Colorado right after getting my degree from the University of Iowa (many years ago). Breckenridge was the first place in Colorado for me and I taught skiing on Peak 8 for 2 winters. I have also lived in Rocky Ford, LaJunta, Fowler and Colorado Springs, and for 15 years I had a middle career as a real estate broker. I started teaching here in November of 2017, so I am still looking for and establishing music traditions at CRES. Besides singing and playing instruments, I also love dramatic play and traditional dances, so you will see a variety of performances as your scholar goes through their years at CRES. Hopefully I will see you on the whitewater (I am the one in the orange duckie) , on mountain biking trails, or on a beautiful mountain hike.
