Language - Spanish Teacher
My name is Kristin Burks, aka Miss Kristin or Maestra Kristin and I am a Spanish teacher at CRES. I love teaching languages through music, movement and literature and strive to make sure students are motivated by their language learning. I am originally from Pennsylvania, but have lived in Colorado for many years.
Languages have always been an interest of mine. I’ve been fortunate enough to have lived in the following Spanish-speaking countries: Mexico, Chile and Argentina. While living abroad, I held several jobs related to education and translation. I earned both my BA and MA at Colorado College and earned my K-12 CLD Ed. endorsement from Adams State. At CRES since 2007, I have worked aa a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, a math interventionist and a Spanish/English language teacher. Previously, I have taught preschool, adult English and Spanish Language classes and private language tutoring.
When not at school, you may find me around town or on the mountain with my 3 kids (Inez, Nico and Luca) and my husband Raúl. We love to bike, hike, swim and ski! We also love to travel and learn about other countries and cultures.
