3rd Grade - 2nd Grade Teacher
This is my eighth year teaching, and it’s my first year teaching 3rd grade. I believe children depend on meaningful relationships in order to learn, so I am excited to be teaching the same group of students this year as last year! I grew up in Indiana, enjoying the sunset over Chicago from the Indiana Dunes and pretending Lake Michigan was the ocean. I attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where I earned a degree in Elementary Education. A cultural program allowed me to study abroad as a student teacher in Australia, where I also became a scuba diver. Later, I earned a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Fort Hays State University. Traveling is important to me, so I try to explore the world as much as possible. For the past ten years, the Roaring Fork Valley has been my home. You may see me riding my mountain bike or hiking in the summer. Cross-country skiing and splitboarding/snowboarding take up my time in the winter. Looking forward to a fun year with a great group of kids, awesome colleagues, and in the best community!
