1st Grade - Teacher
My name is Kyle-Leigh (pronounced like “Kylie”) Berry. I am a 1st grade teacher at Crystal River Elementary School. I enjoy working with children and helping them grow through their education. I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect.
Carbondale, Colorado has been my home town for the past eleven years. I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio where I attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio for my undergraduate in Elementary Education. My first three years of teaching took me to Crescent Springs, Kentucky where I also completed my Master's of Elementary Education at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky. I moved to the Denver suburbs fourteen years ago and decided that if I'm living in Colorado I needed to be in the mountains and I moved to Carbondale. Throughout my eighteen years of teaching, I've taught second, third and fourth grades. This year, I'm teaching first grade and I'll be looping with my class to second grade next year.
During the summer, I spend my free time going hiking, camping and riding my bike. I also worked for Summer Advantage as the Program Manager for the last six summers. In the winter, I love to cook, snowshoe and read. In addition to the kids at school, I have two fur babies. They are two Jack Russell Terriers named Pax and Libby. You might see me out walking them or at the local dog park!
