1st Grade - 1st Grade Teacher
I’m Anne Muir and I love teaching first graders. I have often thought that I could put a spin on a well known homily, “Everything I ever needed to learn about compassion and working with others, I learned from teaching.” This is my third year at CRES and my tenth year in our school district. I have lived in the valley for 22 years and love the beauty that surrounds us and all the opportunities this beautiful valley provides us. I have two adult daughters, Kate and Jayne, who went through the Basalt school system. When they headed to freshman year in college and freshman year in high school, I headed back to teaching! I taught for seven years at Basalt Elementary before moving to CRES. I enjoy hiking, gardening, “all things music” and especially singing. I have enjoyed singing with the Aspen Choral Society over the past 5 years. I am especially passionate about theater and love to be involved behind the scenes. This fall of 2018 I will be helping with props for the show “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” at the Vaudeville Revue. I am grateful to work with the committed, talented group of teachers and staff at Crystal River, and our wonderful, supportive families.
