CRES Outdoor Learning Space gets approval from the district!

In January 2015 our PTO was awarded a $5,000 grant from Lowe's to build an outdoor classroom on our campus.   PTO has since pledged approximately $3,000 of funds leftover from earlier outdoor build projects for this learning space.  In addition, PTO has been named a finalist for another $2,000 of grant more from a local business. A group of construction-savvy, committed parents including Travis Stewart of Casey Concrete, Nic Lough of Ridge Runner Construction and Tim Fenton of Gallegos Construction have submitted a proposal and received enthusiastically-positive district approval.  When surveyed for the project, our teachers and other staff gave their 100% approval rating, as well as many constructive comments about how it could be structured to best meet our students' needs.  The timeline for the build is roughly between July 10 - August 2, with an expected completion date of August 15.  We are very excited for this outdoor classroom and anticipate it being an area of a variety of learning, performing, reflecting, playing and thinking experiences!  Check out our initial sketches here and please contact This email address is being protected from spambots.
